Anyone fluent with D operators in diff?

OpenStudy (dominusscholae):

Why, do you have a question?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

isnt D just notation for a derivative? D(2x^2) = 4x

OpenStudy (dominusscholae):

^pretty much. for any higher-order derivatives, there written out as \[D^n\], where n represents n, and \[D^n\] is the nth-derivative. Ex: \[D^3 ( 4x^3)\] is the third derivative of 4x^3
