why we use uncertainty in calculation of physic experiment ?

OpenStudy (mani_jha):

Because it is not possible to take any reading with 100% accuracy. There is always some error. Suppose you are measuring the time period of a simple pendulum. You have got to release the bob from its extreme position and start your stopwatch at the same time. There has to be some error - You cant do both at exactly the same time! Then, you have to stop the watch at the exact moment it completes, say, 10 oscillations. Even there will be a little error in that. So, we always take the uncertainties, so that we are aware of what mistakes we might make in measurement.
