Why does coconut water taste sweet? (apparently it has something to do with cohesive forces.)

Just drank some, so I'm motivated to answer this question!

I'm not so sure about the cohesive forces bit. The plant does exploit cohesive forces to hydrate itself because of its shallow root structure, but coconut water's subtle sweetness comes from the small bit of sugar that it has in it ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coconut_water). Its slight mealiness is probably attributable to the fiber, fat, potassium and the rest of the vitamins that can be found in it, but I think overall the water has no special attributes.

There's nothing special about it? Huh. How does the sugar remain in the cocnut water though? How did it get there, I mean? Did the momma coconut plant give its baby som nutrition- sugar- for growth and survival purposes? :P
