divide

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide as in long division you get \[\frac{x^2-5x+6}{x+4}=x-9+\frac{42}{x+4}\]so your slant asymptote is \[y=x-9\] you can stop when you get to x\ \[x-9\] because the remainder is not important for the asymptote
