Well, ask your teacher if he/she means intersect as in on top of each other. Techincally two line equations that are on top of each other can be shown to be the same equation. But, we can still call them two functions that are exactly equal, and in this case that have an infinite amount of intersections. If lines on top of each other don't count, then the answer is never - that is, if the line was straight. I hate probems like this (not you, the problem xD) because they are way to ambiguous.
