15x^(2)-14x-8

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

(5x+2)(3x-4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you do it step by step

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

it's really a matter of trial and error...think of factors of 15..it's 5 and 3..15 and 1 then think of factors of 8..that's 4 and 2... and 8 and 1

Use the ac method. Multiply the first and last coefficients to get -120. Consider which factors of -120 can be added together to make fourteen. Substitute for the middle term, and factor by grouping. I.e.,\[15x^2-14x-8=15x^2-20x+6x-8=5x(3x-4)+2(3x-4)=(5x+2)(3x-4)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15x2−14x−8 15x2−20x+6x−8 5x(3x−4)+2(3x−4) (5x+2)(3x−4) or get help www.teachon.tk
