suppose both the radius r and height h of a circular cone change at a rate of 2cm/sec how fast is the volume of the cone changing when r=8 and when h=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so we know the Vcone=1/3(pi)r^2h and from your question we know that Dr/dt=2 and dh/dt=2 we need dv/dt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

woudn't dr/dt= 8 and dh/dt= 8 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. im rather sure not. dh/dt in simpler term is the rate of change of h over time. in this problem, that is given as 2, i am pretty sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how would i go about doing this problem?
