A student wanted to determine if KClO4 would be suitable for use in a hot pack or cold pack. The student weighed out 7.2331 gm of KClO4. The coffee cup calorimeter was set up with 65 ml of water at 21.3 oC. The KClO4 was added to the water, mixed, and the temperature was recorded. The final temperature was measured to be 11.5 oC. Answer the following questions to determine if this system might be used as a hot pack or a cold pack. a) What is the MW of KClO4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

MW is molar mass, so using a periodic table would be helpful - you need the molar mass of K, Cl, and 4x the molar mass of O, then add all those quantities together. I feel like there are more parts to this question so if you need more help feel free to re-post in this thread and I/someone else will help you tonight or tomorrow. :)
