Is a triangle with sides of length 6 ft, 21 ft, 23 ft a right triangle? Explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if 6^2 + 21^2 = 23^2 (pythagoras theorem) then the triangle is right angled...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is not possible hence the triangle is not right-angled...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its not right angled

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup it's not...did you get it why???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont get how to expian that is not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so just to be sure its not a right triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for a triangle to be right angled,it has to obey pythagoras theorem...it states that the sum of the squares of two adjacent sides is equal to the square of the hypotenuse|dw:1333558650934:dw|
