what is the difference between inert and stable??
Inert is basically another word for unreactive, so the inert elements are unreactive elements i.e. the Noble Gases (Group 0/8/18 - whichever you use). The Noble Gases are inert due to the fact that they have full outer shells, and therefore do not need to gain or lose electrons in order to reach a stable electronic configuration. The reactive elements (i.e. Group 1 and 7, and to a lesser extent Group 2 and 6) are reactive due to the fact that they readily lose or gain electrons from their outer shell in order to reach a stable electronic configuration. An example: Na: 1 electron in the outer shell Cl: 7 electrons in the outer shell So that both electrons can have 8 electrons in their outer shell, Na will donate an electron to Cl, forming an ionic bond between these two elements
and I hate chemistry
i love chemistry and dats not the ans miss (: try again
nope.
ok @gurvinder u are tryin or i should reveal the ans??
listen
*whispers* I don't hear anything
yes..
lol @rebeccaskell94 :P
Breathe guru...you can do this
lol :P
@supercrazy92 y dont u try atleast give a try bro :)
@heena I've a lot to learn first :P
ok inert means rate of reaction is less and whenever we talk about rate we say kinetics and stable means energy low and whenver we talk about evergy we say thermodynamics so never say that these two words are same :)
in most atoms the proton and neutron found in the nucleus are held together strongly.the nuclei of these atoms are said to be stable and now inert is slow reaction aur we cas say inert sas is gas which does not undergoes chemical reaction under set of given condition ...aur hm bol skte hai ki jo inert having no inhereny power of action,motion or resistance inert gases ko also called noble gas
u can also be rel.vid chemical kinetics....
i only asked difference and this is the diference that stable word is used only in thermodynamics while inert used in kinetics :) u knw in xam the qn camess like this electrochemical series is based on the principle of? a)kinetic b)thermodynamics c)both d)none of the above
dats y i thought u might be not knowing the differnce for u i posted dumbo :P ask ur doubts if u had
heheh bublly iska anwer btana hai kya
ni i m just telling the way the qn is asked through the whole matter dat i told u :D anyways ans goes to a)kinetic as inert means rate of reaction
ok one more qn try it guys ok i m posting der
