A question on standard enthalpy change

OpenStudy (callisto):

I know the answer is A and I did it correctly in my mock exam. But somehow, I don't know how the answer comes. Can anyone kindly explain it? Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its simple whenver we calculate we allways do reactant -product=enthalpy change ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok now u are given reaction is C2H2 +2H2----------------------> C2H6 now u are given for C2H2=x H2=y but u have two moles of H2 den it will become 2y C2H6=z now putting the values in above formula u ll get it ok x+2y-z

OpenStudy (callisto):

Thanks heena!!!! Simple enough :D
