Which of the following is the vertex form of the expression below? y = 9x2 - 90x + 231

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

try to rewrite it into the form y=a(x-h)^2-k

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

in other words, complete the square, factor out x's coefficient, and you should have your result if you did it correctly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

inkyvoyd is correct. If you put it into the form he/she has listed, it will be in vertex form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = 9(x-5))^2 + 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're right ! did what u suggested an and i was correc ! thanx so much !! :)

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

Also, the point (h,k) is the vertex when you write it in vertex form. Remember that it's *a(x-h)* and not *a(x+h)*
