Hey everyone! how do you do this kind of problem : What is the volume at STP occupied by a gas mixture having 0.5 mol mthane, 0.25 mol hydrogen and 1.25 mol of oxygen

OpenStudy (callisto):

Do you take the molar volume of gas = 24.0dm^3 ?

OpenStudy (rita):

i dont know im stuck i know the first step is to add up the mols all the ions

OpenStudy (callisto):

Hmm, then I would just assume you use the molar volume of gas = 24.0dm^3mol^-1 Total number of mole of gas = 0.5 +0.25+1.25 = 2 moles Volume = 2x24.0 = 48.0 dm^3
