Why would I help justin bieber?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Depending upon the shape, usually you can break it down into smaller shapes -- rectangles or even triangles that you can take the area of and then sum up the areas of the smaller shapes. If it is a curved shape and not a conic (circle or ellipse), you'd need integral calculus which, by the way, is based on breaking the shape up into infinite number of rectangles.

im is 5th grade

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Perimeter is just the distance around the shape. So, you'd just add together all of the side lengths.
