A neurobiologist is launching a nationwide professional study on the connection between text messaging and a particular type of brain function. The population of his study is twelve- to thirty-two-year-old people who text at least once a day. He wants to make sure that the whole range of ages is represented in the study. Which kind of sampling would provide the most reliable information for this study?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say Random sampling... Or do they want a more specific answer and not a random one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Meaning all samples are randomly selected. :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these are my choices: convenience sampling volunteer sampling systematic sampling simple random sampling

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Last one. Convenience sounds bias. Volunteer I guess ethically can be a good answer, but then you would have to make sure you are not looking for volunteer in biased areas such as: A school and not a workplace. I don't know what systematic sampling is. SRS sounds like the most correct.

thank you so much

De nada.
