factor 4x^2 - 64y^2 i tried this on y own and ended up with 4x^2-16x+4x-16 obviously its wrong so I need someone to just solve it with the steps so i can see what im doing wrong

Notice that -64y^2 has the variable "y" so you need to include it in your factorization First you take out the common factor "4" 4(x^2-16y^2) x^2-16y^2 can be simplified as (x-4y) (x+4y) So the answer would be 4 (x-4y) (x+4y)
