A closely wound search coil has an area A of 4 cm^2 , 160 turns, and a resistance of 50 ohm. It is connected to a ballistic galvanometer whose resistance is 30 ohm. The small coil is placed in a uniform magnetic field B. When the coil is quickly rotated from a position where A parallel to B to one where A perpendicular B, the galvanometer indicates a charge of 4 X 10^-5 coulombs. What is the magnitude of the field?

OpenStudy (mos1635):

faraday's low

OpenStudy (mos1635):

(not fluent in english) when flow changes volts appear use formula for volts use definition formula for curent assosiete those two (time goes away) you have a formula with gharge Q and magnitude of field....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then how do we deal with these two resistances?

OpenStudy (mos1635):

ooh sorry i have forgot to metion that Ohm's low is used too.. do you see it....?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, I have solve this problem, you really saved my life, thank you !

OpenStudy (mos1635):

let's comaire results....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get 0.05T

OpenStudy (mos1635):

that is my number too!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

may I ask you another question about mutual inductance of two coils?

OpenStudy (mos1635):

shoot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A solenoid of length 10 centimeters and radius 2 centimeters is wound uniformly with 1000 turns. A second coil of 50 turns is would around the solenoid near its center. What is the mutual inductance of the two coils?

OpenStudy (mos1635):

final formula or way to get there??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I want to know which formula should I use and how to approach this problem, because I have the answer which is 0.79mH but I don't know how to get it. thanks
