Give 3 different polar points that are equivalent to: (0,-5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(pi,5) (2pi, -5) (3pi, 5)

OpenStudy (mertsj):

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[(5,\frac{3\pi}{2})\] That would get us there. Can you think of another one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thoguht that polar cordinates was (angle, length). I thoguht that the point would be along the x axis

OpenStudy (mertsj):

We were given the rectangular coordinates. (0,-5) 0 is the x coordinate and -5 is the y coordinate.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

When giving the polar coordinates, you give the distance along the polar axis first and the angle of rotation second.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, my apologizes then :P
