Please help(: Find the horizontal asymptote of the graph of 6x^2 + 5x + 9 / 7x^2 -x + 9
Take the limit as x goes to infinity....the result would be inf/inf (an indeterminate form) What you would do is this derivative of numerator/derivative of denominator
@Jlastino not sure :/
oh are you taking up calculus?
@Jlastino algebra 2
ok so what you will do is divide everything by the variable with highest exponent (x^2)
@Jlastino ok cool then what?
can you show me the resulting equation?
I just got y=6/7 as my answer because im looking at my book also for help
Or you could just look at the lead term of num and dem. if: num < dem, y = 0 num = dem, y = num/dem num > dem, no horizontal asymptote, but oblique
yeah that's it
@Jlastino i'm right? 6/7?
yrs it's 6/7
I see that @iwph
@iwph and @Jlastino thank you for all ur help!
