Decide whether you would use the graphing, substitution, or elimination method to solve the following system of equations. Explain, in complete sentences, why you chose that method. Part 2: Solve the following system of equations and show all of your work. 4x + 3y = -1 3x + y = 3

OpenStudy (precal):

I would use elimination

OpenStudy (precal):

multiply -3 to the second equation to get rid of the y and solve for x. Many ways to approach using elimination

HAHA HAHAHAH Linear Algebra to the rescue once again!!!! If uou row rduce this matrix \[\huge \matrix{4&3&-1\\3&1&3 } \] you get x=2 and y=-3 OR you could use cramer's rule

OpenStudy (precal):

@cyter I wonder if the asker has studied linear algebra. Looks like an Algebra I or II question. just saying........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is algebra 1

OpenStudy (precal):

Later on in math, you will hopefully learn about the matrix and linear algebra. You will see that there are faster methods to solving systems. For now, listen to your teacher. I still would do elimination.

thats the thing i dont know how i ithought someone would just solve it for me so i can do the next one on my own from this example problem i need this one solved and the steps shown
