How do you subtract vectors? I know how to add them, but how do I subtract them? EDIT: Scroll to the bottom. I think I did this correctly....

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Remember that subtracting is the same as adding the opposite.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

same way, but flip one backwards

So I have: \(\ \huge w(8.5, 69.4) \) and \(\ \huge v(\sqrt{45}, 106.0) \). I need to find \(\ \huge v - w \). Both are vectors, expressed in polar form, where the first number is the magnitude, and the second number the direction in degrees.

\(\ \huge How would I draw a picture of this? \)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Subtracting a vector is the same as adding a negative. A negative vector has the same magnitude but is expressed with a different direction.
