If you're familiar with integrals you could take the equation of a certain equation and rotate it about the x/y axis.

For example a question I was required to do for maths was to find the height of a beer cup that would contain 750mL and have a radius of 6. Here is my answer. I'm not sure how well you will be able to decipher my working out, if you are unfamiliar with integrals, but, here you have it.
