Who knows a good way to make sure people don't hear you breathe while you sing/ record your singing?

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

Take breaths away from the microphone for starters and work on your breathing so you have complete control (don't need to consistently inhale). Also, in order to get rid of nasty sibilance and pops (for example, when you say 's' sounds or 'p' sounds), you may want to invest in a "pop filter". (looks like this: http://www.deansabatino.com/images/howto/popfilter1.jpg ) They're only $10-$20 and definitely worth it, imo. However, if you want to rig one up, a popular little trick is to use a hanger and some pantyhose. Bend the hanger into a circle and put the pantyhose on it so it's stretched, resembling an actual pop filter (the image above).

Always sing from your diaphragm, not your throat. Also, when you breathe, make sure you standing upright, and your body is fully loosened. This will help a ton!

When you breathe turn your head away from the microphone..so your breathes aren't being directly heard. They also have foam microphone covers that specifically help your breathing not be heard;)

Sing from your abdomen so as to pull the full power of each breath into each burst.
