Without graphing, classify the system and determine the number of solutions. 2x+y=2 6x+3y=12 .

Parth (parthkohli):

There is no solution as 1st equation we can say is 6x + 3y = 6 and the second says 6x + 3y = 12. We know that this cannot have two solutions.

yep ^^

@parthkohli is it consistent or inconsistent

Parth (parthkohli):

I dunno about that @Rohangrr : answer him please :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

inconsistent

OpenStudy (anonymous1):

I would say it is "impossible". Maybe "inconsistent" means the same thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous1):

It is inconsistent, by the definition of inconsistent here: http://ceee.rice.edu/Books/LA/consist/index.html
