What is the length of side GH? Help needed ASAP!
that picture is a little ambiguous... which quadrilateral has an area of 60 square cm... rectangle GHJK , or trapezoid GHIK
Recall that A = lw. You have the width and the area, so you can use that to get the length.
well, if it's the area of rectangle GHJK then the answer is easily obtained by the area formula: A=L*W 60 = L*4
divide 4 from both sides... but that's a little too easy. maybe it's the trapezoid you think?
divide 4 frm where?
If the 60 is actually the trapezoid, the area formula is A = (1/2) (base1 + base2)*height. GH is base1 and KI is base2. A=60, height = 4. plug all these into that formula and solve for base1 (GH)
1/2(4+18)?
@dpaInc
gave me 11
(1/2)(base1 + 18)*4 = 60 this is the equation you need to solve for base1. divide both sides by 2 to get rid of the (1/2)*4 then subtract 18 from both sides to solve for base1
Ty i got the answer right :D @dpaInc
all right!!! yw... :)
