Which is a sub-atomic particle? A) compound B) electron C) isotope D) neuron

OpenStudy (kainui):

Subatomic just comes from "sub-" meaning "under" or "secondary" so you can consider that subatomic loosely translates to a part of an atom. Literally a subatomic particle is just one of the particles that makes up an atom. A compound is a substance that is made up of multiple atoms, like salt or water. both are compounds. An electron is one of the three main particles that make up an element along with protons and neutrons. An isotope is what we call different atoms with different numbers of neutrons, since an atom is defined by the number of protons it has, it can have any number or neutrons and still be the same atom. A neuron is similar sounding to a neutron, but they are completely different! Neutrons are the particles within an atom that hold the protons together while a neuron is a brain cell.

sub -atomic particle is a sub part of an atom so it's "ELECTRON"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sub-atomic means smaller than an atom. An electron is smaller than an atom since it makes up an atom.
