Each edge of a cube is 5 meters long. Which is the volume of the cube? (m = Meters) 5 m(to the 3rd power) 10 m(to the 3rd power) 15 m(to the 3rd power) 125m(to the 3rd power)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

hint: volume of a cube = area of base x height since your base of a cube is square..the area of that base is side x side so volume of cube = s x s x h

I don't understand very well at all. (Math is my weak subject :/)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what lgbasallote is saying is that you multiply the side length by itself 3 times to get your answer.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So you compute 5*5*5 to get the volume

125 m(to the 3rd power)?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

ha lol yeah =)) i just wanted to state the general formula :D the formula area of base x height is applicable to prisms like boxes, cylinders, etc.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes, the answer is 125 cubic meters

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty then. Thank you both.
