Please help! a steeper curve on a reaction rate plot corresponds to: 1.higher temperature and higher concentration conditions 2. a gmore endothermic reaction 3. larger pieces of reactants 4. a reaction of equilibrium
look more steeper means adiabatic process where energy is not exchanged with the climate now u tell me what u think tha ans should be..
the energy is not exchanged between the surrounding and system
I was thinking 3?
yes it will be as a cant be possilble u seee at high temp and high conc the reactants react but here process adiabatic means no reaction so it will be excluded now coming to b) endothermic it cannot be as energy is not exchanged coming to c) ye it can be as no reation result large amount of reactant :)
thanks!
I turned it in and the answer is "1"
oh.. yes *face plam they are talking abu rate reaction plot i told u acc to normal graph .. yes den it will go 1. as u see high the temp and reaction can make or force to do the reaction so the most appropriate might be 1 but wait i m nt sure abu reason
oh..
@Callisto ??
hey i m not sure abu the reason plz chck the qn and tell the ans if u have a rough idea..
I'm not sure too! But I think (1) would be correct. (1) higher temp/higher concentration -> effective collision ↑ -> rate ↑-> steeper slope (3) larger pieces of reactants -> smaller contact surface area compared to the substance of the same mass in smaller piece-> effective collision ↓ -> rate↓ -> less steep slope
I hope this can help you rate is amount of product formed over time so for a plot of rate vs. time (reaction rate plot) a higher rate (M/hr), i.e. steeper curve/gradient corresponds to a higher amount of product formed over time.
A steep curve on a reaction rate plot is indicative of a higher reaction rate in a shorter period of time
