Where are you stuck? Can you do any of it alone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not This Stuff Teh others yes but not this OR

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean, any of this question, do you know how to do number 1 even?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes #1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok done w/ one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok now #3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't you mean 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Got that supriseingly!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, now for 2. When reflecting, it should end up looking like you folded the paper over that axis and traced the resulting image. The easy way to think about reflecting something over an axis is to think in negative terms the other way. In short, when told to reflect over the axis, take your original points, and take the negative. So if you have a triangle with points (3, 9) (2, -6) and (4, 7) (Not saying that's possible) It would become (3, -9) (2, 6) and (4, -7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see you say you got that, but I had already typed it. Let me look at what 3 says again now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

eyep ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, to do 3 you're rotating 180, so this time you take the negative of both x and y. Make sure you use your part 2 coordinates. For example one of the points we started with was (1,1) right? For 2 it became (1, -1) For 3 you'll take the negative of both of those, so (-1, 1).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all neg?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think opposite, not negative. Take the opposite sign of each of the coordinates of you part 2 points.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well 4 should be pretty easy to do even without manipulating the points. Just simply to to each point, then go the number and direction it says to go. But if you want the math we can do that too. It says to go 2 left, and 3 down. the x axis goes left and right. Left is negative right is positive. So when you go left you go negative, or subtract. 2 the y axis goes up and down, up is positive, down is negative, or subtract. 3 so take your part 3 points and do the following: (x-2, y-3) Going back to (-1, 1) it would become (-1-2 , 1-3)
