Help!! A person’s maximum running speed s (in meters per second) can be approximated by the function s = pie square root 9.8l/6 where l is the person’s leg length (in meters). To the nearest tenth of a meter, what is the leg length of a person whose maximum running speed is about 3.4 meters per second?
it's 9.8 (with the letter l after it , not 1)
does s= pi√( (9.81 X L /) 6)
like is the 9.8L/6 inside the square root
Yes & yes.
you'll have to substitute s for 3.4 and then solve for L
6.0? 0.o
i actually got something less than 1
I'm pretty clueless on how to do this, lol . Was i supposed to multiply pi by 6? then divide it by 3.4^2?
nope,... I don't know how to word this XD... um.. you'll divide 3.4 by pi and your result from there you square it. then multiply that by 6 and divide by 9.8
since the 3.4 and pi are in parenthesis that should be done first.
0.717?
yea, that's what i got
Thanks .
you're welcome :)
