Which ordered pair is a solution to the inequality y > x + 1? (1, 5) (0, -2) (5, -1) (2, 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You tell me. Each ordered pair is an (x,y) pair. So plug them in and you get these three equations, you get to figure out which one is right: (1) 5>1+1 (2) -2>-2+1 (3) -1>5+1 (4) 2>2+1

Just plug in each of the answers into y > x + 1. I plugged in (1,5). 1 is the x and 5 is the y. 5 > 1 + 1 5 > 2 So that is correct because it's saying that 5 is greater than 2, which is true. So your answer is (1,5).
