OpenStudy (bing):

Is there anybody there that can help me out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with what bing?

OpenStudy (bing):

toroid that has 10 radius with current 0.080 A and twist N = 100 what is the scalarvalue of the magnetic field

OpenStudy (ujjwal):

Magnetic field at center of toroid is maximum and it is almost negligible outside toroid.. Magnetic field at center of toroid is given by B= (mu) n I where mu is permeability of free space n=N/(2pi R) is number of turns per unit length I is current through toroid.. Now you can calculate B..

OpenStudy (bing):

what about the constant 4pi*10^-7

OpenStudy (ujjwal):

that is mu

OpenStudy (bing):

If the conductor lies on toroids axes and then leads current, what will be the value of the constant now and what will be the direction

OpenStudy (ujjwal):

the value of constant is always constant.. And you mentioned direction but i don't understand what direction are you talking about?

OpenStudy (bing):

This is another question, i mean a If the conductor is moved from the previous position and placed on toroids axes and then leads current, what will be the value of the current now and what will be the direction

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Can you use the "Draw" button to give us an idea of the situation you are describing?

OpenStudy (bing):

Here the demand is that the inner mangnetic field should be zero

OpenStudy (bing):

the question is actually in norwagean so am trying to translate it in english

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Is this what you mean: You want B created by I1 in toroid coil to be cancelled out by I2 in infinite wire going through axis of toroid? |dw:1335991015299:dw|

OpenStudy (bing):

yes

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Well, laws of electrodynamics are linear. ujjwal said that B1 = µo.n.I1 Now find I2 so that B2 created at distance R from the wire equals B1. You can either use Ampère's theorem or you might have a formula in your book.

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

If I have guessed your problem right, then the answer should be \(I_{2}=NI_{1}=100\times 0.08=8\:A\)

OpenStudy (bing):

thanks

OpenStudy (bing):

Do you have time for another question, just wanna know if my calculations were currect

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Go on :)
