i need help asap. no time to waist!!! I cannot afford to get this problem wrong!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

Well, how many feet are in a yard?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

So that means company B sells it for a $1 per cubic foot, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think com b will save more...because of cubic yards but idk how much u will save

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it will take more for com a..just to get cubic yrds

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

Well... if there are three feet in a yard, you'd multiply the cost of company A by 3, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tht would give me 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm i lookd at the wrong one

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

So what would you get, then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

33

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

Okay, so that's in terms of cents. Also, the answers are in terms of cents, so you'll want to convert company B to cents. So, company A is 33 cents per yard, while company B is 300 cents. Do you know what to do from there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. im completely clueless.. i know it may be easy but math isnt my best buddy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im struggling and if i dont complete this id hv to retake the class.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a whole bunch of mathical problems i must do..this is only the half of it

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

I know, same here here >< I just happen to get this question. Well, what do you think you should do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm... let me think

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

The more you think about how to do it, the more you'll memorize and it can become easier

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

Take your time :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have bad mem :\

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well not rlly tht bad but..its hard to rem some stuff like math probs i did yesterday.

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

With practice, it'll become better. Latin is my best subject, but I used to have to study A LOT for it. When I didn't study in my Freshman year, I got like 75s, maybe 80s if I was lucky. I got into the habit of studying, which improved my memory a lot. This year, Junior year, I don't even study anymore and I get around a 99 on everything. It just became second nature to me. Other topics, however... not as easy :P

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

For this question, you might be overthinking it. Don't stress, try thinking about it logically :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry my tech was talkn 2 me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your right

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

It's okay :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i added sub multpied and divided 30 and 300

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiplied

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got nothing

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

Hmm... apparently, from Googling, a cubic yard is 27 cubic feet. I'm trying to solve it and not getting anything, so that's probably why. The math has to be reworked a bit, then. It's 300 cents for 27 cubic feet, and 11 cents for one cubic foot. If you wanted 27 cubic feet, or a yard, from company A, it would be 297 cents. The reason being, is that... let me draw it out, unless you understand why it's 297 cents?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u may draw it out

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

I think the reason a cubic yard is 27 feet is because it's cubic... yes, there are three feet in a yard, but you have to cube that. So, 3^3 = 27.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i may have to go in a few but ill try to get back on in my nxt class

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk if id still hv the same question when i log back on to my thing
