In a chemistry lab we did at school we prepared indigo and tested which material indigo dyed the darkest and which material was the lightest. My conclusion is: the results showed that the cotton was the darkest and the acrylic was the lightest. After further examination of the lab I found that the wool was the second darkest followed by Nylon, Acetate, and Polyester. I NEED HELP WITH CREATING AN OBSERVATIONS SECTION FOR MY LAB REPORT

OpenStudy (zepp):

My lab report's analysis always has: -What should I do -Procedure of the test -Results -Explanation of the results

please help me!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you just wrote your observation, so you concluded that material which was darkest is good adsorbant of indigo that is that good chemical and mechanical interactions were established and for worst one that those chemical and mechanical interactions were bad...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are the similarities if any, are observed between the fabrics with dyes that dyed well? and the ones that did not dye well?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

similarities exist and its word about natural structures of fabrics which can easily make secondary bonds with dye, but those that didn't dye well are artificial and those structures obviously dont bond well with the dye, that's why artificial fabrics is often dyed during procedure of making (extrusion etc.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please rephrase this i am confused "similarities exist and its word about natural structures of fabrics which can easily make secondary bonds with dye"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

word???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in other words: im talking about...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What would be a next logical extension to this lab and why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be to change spectrum of dyes by which i mean change in polarity of dye and then test again to see if there is any change visible. because with change of polarity also change interactions between fabric and dye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the step by step procedure for preparing indigo?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you should have it cause you were doing it! :D
