A. Can you please make it so we can ask more than one question at a time, but still limit it to like 3 or something? The reason is that when the questions are complicated, there aren't that many people who are able to answer, and you end up spending like an hour waiting for a response, when you could have also been getting help on another question at the same time. It would really improve efficiency, please consider it! b. the suggestion forum is kind of hard to find :( c. I LOVE THIS SITE THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!!!!!
this is a frequently asked question @itzmashy you do know the reason for the one question at a time is so you can focus on one question at a time right? and you can always just close the question and reask later on..as i always say...if it cant be answered in 10 minutes, it cannot be answered in 3 hours :DDD
^i dunno if my quote meant anything to you but it's actually true haha
i dunnoooo i have a lot of questions, and if one person knows the answer to one, and another can help with another... then it's really beneficial when you have those questions sitting for a few hours :( i think it's just as easy to focus on two questions, as it is on one.. maybe it should that if your question hasn't been answered in a long time, then you can ask another one?
believe me two questions at a time is not that beneficial in learning...i was tempted to learn improper integrals and area between two curves at the same time (using 2 accounts) but i didnt..i decided to learn them one at a time...and it worked perfect :D
but what if the questions are on the same topic? and by doing one, you're also doing anohter?
if they are almost the same...then why would you need to ask 2 questions? i mean you got the first one already...then the second is a waste isnt it?
The thing is that sometimes people can't answer that one question right then and there and you have to wait. And if you have more questions that people can solve then you limit yourself to the time of waiting until someone comes up and knows how to solve it. Then if no one solves it within a certain time the question is closed and the asker makes another question with a different problem that might or might not be answer then. This keeps going on until you pretty much wasted a lot of time trying to figure out which questions people can help your right then and right there. Btw we are not always online so we are also restricted to the small amount of time we are online. This problem of posting a question and waiting for someone to answer can lead to post being made in between as little as hours up to days. Some askers can't wait hours until someone answers one of their questions.
Wow I really suck at writing. I hope you can understand my post.
yeah! that's exactly how it is.. i sometimes have to wait hours for an answer.. and while i'm waiting i do other homework.. and then i have questions on that.. and i can't ask them :(
well if they're the same topics like i said..asking one will be like asking the other..
Maybe we should have a subject box where we can write a small general description of the problem and see if people are able to help you.
so if no one has a clue on your first question...most like likely no one has a clue on your next...if they'e the same
then the asker can post a full description after knowing someone will be able to help them if not close it and move on to the next problem.
Not really there are some derivatives I can solve and some I can't
and it helps when you know the right guys...for example...for me...a few can answer my calculus problems..but i know the people who can...and in every time intervals at least one of them is online
@Romero i said if people has "no idea" haha =))
But OS attracts a lot of new users who don't know who can solve their problem.
If a new user sees that no one can answer that specific question at that moment then they will see it as if this site is not useful.
Quick question. Are you a mod?
mods -> purple names and borders
i see your point btw
Meh
like.. right now.. i have a pretty difficult question, and no one has answered for an hour.. but now i have another question.. and i can't ask it :( i so sad.
There is also the thing that some users might ask questions that might not relate to the same specific subject. Like I have a linear a. course that sometimes I need help on but I also take a physics class that requires a lot of integrals.
These are some good points. Our hypothesis behind the one question at a time feature was that askers will be more engaged if they focused on a question at a time. However, Romero correctly points out the faulty assumption that every question will be answered very soon. We're still evaluating this feature, we are keeping a close eye on it. We are also trying out ways to get ALL your questions answered asap. Please, keep the feedback coming. Everyone on our team loves hearing from you, the users.
Also keep in mind that this was a strategy not only to help the students focus, but also to avoid flooding the group with questions from one person who would then not put forth effort to learn from the result. In this goal, the one question at a time has broadly succeeded. So we have to balance the two. I do know you're saying that there should still be a limit, just more than one, but that becomes a lot more difficult to communicate to you as a user in the interface.
My proposed compromise would be to allow a second question to be posted, but only a set amount of time after the first question has been posted.
does it? what if you have like You have an open question: and there are three tabs, and each tab is associated with a question, and it could say you have 2 questions remaining, and then 1 question remaining, and once you submit a question under that tab, you can click on it to see it, and switch between questions by switching between tabs ^.^ i totally agree that you should stop ppl from flooding, before it was limited ppl would just post question after question after question - super annoying. but waiting suuuuucks!! it also is kind of counterproductive that the longer your question goes unanswered, the longer you can go from bumping it.. because if your question hasn't been answered then the longer you wait, the less chance people have for seeing it :( so that's why it should be like.. if you bump a question 4 times, and no one answers, you can ask another question just so you can get on with your hw ^.^
