8 ∙ 8 (mod 6) =

When doing modular arithmetic, you can either reduce with the mod first and then do the operation, or do the operation then reduce by the mod. So you could either note that 8 is the same as 2 mod 6 since: \[8=1(6)+2\], so you really have:\[8\cdot 8\equiv 2\cdot 2=4\]or you can do:\[8\cdot 8=64\]and then note that:\[64=10(6)+4\Longrightarrow 64\equiv 4\]both ways give you 4 for an answer.
