$6,000 dollars is invested in two different accounts earning 3% and 5% interest. At the end of one year, the two accounts earned $220 in interest. How much money was invested at 3%? $2,000 $3,000 $4,000

I CN'T DO THIS PROBLEM .....THTS Y

Lets say account one is x1 and account two is x2. Regardless of how much you invest in one the total between x1 and x2 have to be 6000 x1+ x2=6000 We also know the combine investment is (x1*.5) + (x2*.3)=220 You know how two equations with two unknowns now solve for x2. I suggest isolating the x1 in the first equation and plugging that in to the second one.

it would come to 3000
