question about quadratic formula..once I get to x=-2+-square root 8/2 what do I do then?
Pat yourself on the back? Just simplify and factorize, whatever you were asked to do...
not sure what to do..hence why I am asking
you can see right away the 2's are going to go away (sqrt 8) = 2sqrt2
so I divide the 2 into the square root?
x=(-2+-square root 8)/2 =(1+-sqrt2)
why not 4?
Why not 4 what?
because I divide again by the 2?
sqrt8 = sqrt4*sqrt2 = 2 root 2
Do you get it?
barely, and what happens to the negative out side the square root?
You have (-2+-square root 8)/2 which is (-2+-2square root 2)/2 and now divide away the 2's (-1+-square root 2) which is 2 roots (-1+square root 2) and (-1- square root 2)
and its acceptable to write it as one expression?
not repeat it twice?
What was it that you were asked (what was the question exactly)?
just solve by quadratic formula
x=-1+-square root 2 is fine.
perfect! ty!
ur welcome.
Do you know about completing the circle?
