Using the notation "a(x) =..." corresponds to which of the following?
That a is a function of x ? I guess...
This is just notation so we can differentiated between multiple different functions instead of saying y=x + 4 we say f(x) = x + 4 this is because if we had two functions y = x + 4 and y = x - 6 it would get confusing to talk about them, so we use this notation to differentiate between theme easily by making f(x) = x + 4 and g(x) = x - 6 we can now talk about them easily and avoid confusion.
we are simply replacing y with this function notation so a regular coordinate would go from (x,y) to (x, g(x)) for example f(x) = x + 4 if we were to substitute 1 into x we would have f(1) = 1 + 4 so the point (1, f(1))
note I'm not using proper set notation
Thnxs it really did help.
@Daish96 Welcome to Open Study :) Just so you know, when your question is "which of the following..." it is usually helpful to actually type what the following choices actually are.
