Out of curiosity would zero be considered prime number?

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

0 would not be considered a prime number because every integer divides 0. I might almost call it the least prime number there is.

I'm guessing that goes for the number 1 as well right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its something that just randomly popped into my mind right now:P

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

1 is special. A number is defined to be prime if it's only positive divisors are 1 AND itself. Since 1 only has 1 divisor, itself, it's not prime.

Cool:) Thanks for the explanation and satisfying my curiosity!

You're very welcome. These are excellent things to be asking questions about.
