What are some of the fastest growing plants from seeds? I need to grow a plant for a biology experiment in less than 2 weeks. Eek! D;
i think you could try cress?
My group and I originally planted radishes in an environmental lab but only one of them grew from 8 seeds... and we water them with sulfuric acid (0.02 M, 0.2 M and 2 M) with one controlled plant watered with water. But ahh.. only one plant grew from 0.02 M and nothing else.
well i was suppose to grow cress as a group in class but our teacher never did it so i can only assume they are quickly grown sorry
ohh what are cress? Are they some type of bean? o.O
Garden cress (Lepidium sativum) is a rather fast-growing, edible herb that is genetically related to watercress and mustard,

ohh, i see. Alright, thank you!!
Do you know of any other fast growing plants? My teacher said one of them are beans.
Kidney beans, Lima beans,
Beans do grow really fast. So do grasses of various sorts... bamboo is known for its fast growth, but that's probably not very practical for a science project. If I were you, I'd just stick to the beans. You can even get them to sprout in a plastic bag taped to a window (clear plastic, with a moist paper towel inside): I remember doing that when I was in school.
If they don't need to be organic beans, you can hasten them on their way by using fertiliser. You would have to be careful to fertilise all plants equally though and make sure that there are no other interactions (i.e., unwanted chemical reactions or plant responses) between the fertiliser and your sulfuric acid. If you don't want to use fertiliser, you can still hurry them up a bit by putting them on a heating pad or under grow lights.
