OpenStudy (btaylor):

I'm just starting the Physics I lectures, since I want to be ready for AP Physics B. I have all the lectures downloaded, but what other course materials should I use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello Btaylor, I'm doing the same thing. I find that going straight through is the most helpful for me. I do the preparation, lecture videos, and the learning activities. Make sure you never look at the solutions! I also use, sometimes, the fundamentals of physics by halliday and resnick as a supplement. Good Luck!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Definitely look at Lewin's Electricity and Magnetism videos for Physics B. I forget...does Physics B cover optics at all?

OpenStudy (btaylor):

Yes, according to the AP physics page, 15% of the exam is Waves and Optics ( http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/physics_b/topic.html?physicsb). But I'm just starting, so I really don't know yet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Look into Ramamurti Shankar's lectures on optics as a part of physics 200 or 201 (I forget which) on YouTube (part of Yale Open Courses). Not very sure on the other topics, though. I know he has some on thermodynamics as well.

OpenStudy (btaylor):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is actually more physics c than b. so if you can understand this lecture, try your hand at physics c.

OpenStudy (btaylor):

oh...unfortunately, my school doesn't offer physics c. will it be useful for physics b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah definitely! physics b is kind of like c without the calc haha
