What are zeroes of a function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aka roots is when f(x)=0

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The points where graph crosses the x axis. They are called zeros of the function because the function value (the y value) is 0 for all points on the x axis. So if the graph contains the point (3,0), 3 is called a zero of the function because the function value is 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So if Im looking at a graph, all the points on the x axis are called zeroes?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

yes

OpenStudy (turingtest):

the points where the graph \(touches\) the x-axis that is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh, okay.

OpenStudy (turingtest):
