Factor the following polynomial completely. -x^2y^2 + x^4 + 4y^2 - 4x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answers (x - 2)(x - 2)(x + y)(x - y) (x + 2)(x + 2)(x + y)(x - y) (x + 2)(x - 2)(x + y)(x - y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

third one i guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u guess?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is the third one because if you factor by grouping, you get (x^2 - 4)(x^2 - y^2) which can factor out to (x + 2)(x - 2)(x + y)(x - y)

ok thank you @Calcmathlete

You're wlcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep.....see the last two terms (x+y)(x-y) it gives x2-y2 but from the question both have reverse sign.....u have to multiply with a negative number....like -4 lazy 2 solve that question
