when factorised, 5(a+b) - 9x (a+b) is.. (please show steps to help me get to answer) thank you

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

a+b is a common factor to both term

Parth (parthkohli):

\( \color{Black}{\Rightarrow x(a + b) + y(a + b) \Longrightarrow (x + y)(a + b) }\)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

so factor out a+b you get (a+b)(5-9x) got it?

Parth (parthkohli):

\( \color{Black}{\Rightarrow 5(a + b) - 9x(a + b) = (5 - 9x)(a + b) }\)

Parth (parthkohli):

@muppz wasn't that easy?
