The motion of a pendulum for which the maximum displacement from equilibrium does not change is an example of simple harmonic motion. True or False

OpenStudy (kropot72):

The restoring force on a simple pendulum is not proportional to the angular displacement theta but to sin theta instead. However for small values of theta, sin theta very nearly equals theta in radians. Therefore for small displacements a pendulum meets the requirement for simple harmonic motion.
