can anyone tell me how to write a literary analysis? :D

For starters, a literary analysis should be written objectively. That means absolutely NO bias. A literary analysis should be based on three to five major elements that the author uses - examples would be simile, hyperbole, syntax, etc. A literary analysis should have a very strong thesis, and should have supporting quotes from the work you are analyzing. A literary analysis should ONLY analyze the text in the present tense. Avoid using the past tense - this makes the piece you are examining sound like old news and that will definitely turn off the reader and get you a bad grade. For more information, I have included one of my old literary analysis's that I modified and shortened for your convenience (it used to be 7 pages...). Pay particular attention to the quotes - every time I mentioned something from my thesis in a paragraph, I used a quote to prove it AND I explained it to the audience. (But NEVER directly address them. You'll have to use the passive voice a lot.) I hope this helped you!! :D
