Factor completely: 3x2 + 5x + 1

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i doubt this is factorable o.O

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

are you sure with these values?

Parth (parthkohli):

My genius mind says that it is prime :P

Parth (parthkohli):

Maybe he/she means 3x^2 + 5x + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah thats what I meant :/

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

then break down the middle term into \[3x^2 + 3x + 2x + 2\]now that's easier to factor!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factoring is sooo not my thing

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

if i group it like so \[(3x^2 + 3x) + (2x + 2)\] do you see it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh I think I see now!

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

yay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

none of the answers I came up with are right though :/

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what did you come up with?
