The length of a rectangle can be found using the following formula: length = area/width . What is the length of a rectangle that has a width of 2.5 cm and an area of 20.5 cm2? ______a0 cm Can someone explain how to do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so you know the equation for the formula for the area of a rectangle. So you can write the equation as 2.5 times X is equal to 20.5. We want to isolate X, so divide each side by 2.5 and you find the length or X!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

length =a*w since your area is 20.5 and your width is 2.5 therefore, length=20.5*2.5

@hellokitty357 That is incorrect. You would do 20.5/2.5 instead of multiplying them
