Factor the expression. -15x^2-21x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3x(x+7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me how you got the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure. Basically you factor out the common factor from both coefficients, which are -3. Then take out the common variable, which is x. You are left with -3x(x+7)

OpenStudy (pfenn1):

\[-15x^2-21x\]You can factor -3x out of the expression. But the answer @some1 gave is incorrect. It should be:\[-3x(5x+7)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea that's right. sorry bout that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
